The first of many...

After hours upon hours of studying, and hundreds {literally!} of flashcards, I have officially conquered my first test! I was pretty nervous about taking this test because I didn't know what to expect, and also because I put quite a bit of pressure on it, thinking it would set the tone for all of my other tests.

I spent this morning holed up in my room making so many flashcards my right hand started to have sympathy cramps for my left. But it was well worth it. After a few hours of sitting and studying, I figured it was time for a change in scenery and grabbed those faithful flashcards and headed to my Starbucks to pick up my paycheck, and grab an english tea. It turned out to be a good decision because after spending about a half an hour studying in the familiar Starbucks bustle, I felt confident, and realized I knew more than I thought I did.

I took the test, and while we were allowed to use our notes, I wanted to go fully off of memory to see how I would do. As I went through the questions, I found myself enjoying knowing and remembering the things I had spent so long studying, and I only missed one question! But because of the format of the test I decided to retake it and go for that 100%. I would have had it too if the answers didn't have to be so stinkin exact. I missed a "y" on "any" in a definition, so I ended up with a 98.74%. Oh well, I rocked it. And I know as long as I stay excited about learning and devoted to studying during training, I'll do just fine.

With this test out of the way I'm pretty excited to head off to training. Tomorrow is my last day in Dallas before I leave, and I have to finish up packing & preparing for this adventure. Sometimes it's hard to know when to be done. There's always one more thing you need! But I'm putting my trust in God knowing that He's got me and is guiding my hands in my packing, and my feet in my travels. We've got this!
